About The Jam Hexagon Nuts
Nuts are widely used in conjunction with a mating bolt to fasten two or more parts together. The two parts are combined by their threads' friction, a slight stretching of the bolt and compression of the parts to be held together. In common use, a nut-and bolt joint holds together because the bolt is under a constant tensile stress called the preload.
Jam hex nuts are thinner than normal standard hex nuts for use in tight areas and widely used with another jam nut to help prevent loosening.
