I am allergic to grass, so I have been wearing a 3M mask and safety glasses whenever I mow, do weed eating, and as well as any kind of chainsaw and/or wood work.I have now ALSO developed an allergy to glasses on the bridge of my nose and I cannot wear safety glasses anymore. As a matter of fact, I had to have a precancerous spot frozen off the bridge of my nose from my prolonged use of safety glasses. (!) If I wear any kind of glasses, regardless of the 4 different nose bridge/pad materials I've tried, my skin gets irritated to the point it takes 4-5 days for the irritation to subside.I finally pulled the trigger and got this face guard, and let me tell you it does a way better job of keeping dirt, dust, and grasses out of my eyes than safety glasses ever did. I should have purchased this 20 years ago. This face shield is a dream come true.Even when the wind is blowing dust clouds my direction I get nothing in my eyes. This is an absolute joy to wear while I'm trimming trees with the chainsaw too. There are times I actually forget that this thing is on.When I'm done at the end of the day I simply rinse it off at the sink and use a sponge with some dish soap to clean it up. Safety glasses were okay, but now when I'm using the weed eater nothing ever hits me in the cheek anymore. This face shield makes safety glasses seem innaffective.Instead of a 3M filter type mask I now wear a thin balaclava underneath the face shield. Unlike my previous setup, I never get steam or fog inside of my face shield. ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘The knob on the back is very handy for adjusting the tension of the headband, and is easily adjustable even with thick chainsaw gloves on.The hard blue plastic at the top on the front acts as a miniature hard hat: I cannot tell you how many times a branch has hit that thing while I was mowing or doing some weed eating underneath the trees. ðŸ‘ðŸ‘

Quality is excellent, fit is adjustable and shield is clear and thick. No problem with fogging, even when wearing a dust mask and additional safety glasses. Highly recommend if you are using a grinder or router. Both are high speed tools that can sometimes send things flying real fast. With this shield the entire area of your face is protected along with most of your neck. Much cheaper than a emergency room visit.

I like this shield for several reasons. There is a knob on the back that adjusts to your head size and the cover on the head is comfortable. The shield wraps around the side of head to your ears. The shield is long and goes to near your chest but doesn't touch it. I can lift up the shield to stay put at certain angles. I can wear my mask underneath the shield comfortably and breath comfortably. People can hear me talking with it on, I don't have to yell. The only negative for me was I had a hard time snapping the shield cover into its holding slot. I was scared I might break the shield but I got it to snap to the head frame. But that's all you have to put together. The head frame is already put together. I was worried I might be at loss by buying this but I am so glad I did! I hope the prices don't go up cuz then I won't be able to buy another when I get more money too. Great Invention who ever made this. Thank you for making me feel more safe when I venture to the stores during this pandemic.

This is a review of the 3M Ratchet Headgear H8A Head and Face Protector.Summary – Doing work with a grinder leaves a face shield a must. I wanted something 3M rated for reliability and protection and this is a nice quality shield with the features I looked for. This uses a WP96 Polycarbonate face shield which measures 9†wide by 14.25†tall. The shield further meets requirements for ANSI Z87.1 – 2010. In simple terms, this just means it is high impact and meets certain industry standards for those who have jobs that require same.To install the shield, simply align the side shield cut outs to match the interior side mounts and when you pull the shield into a vertical position, the front latch will lock into place.**Which makes this a nice headset as you can then just replace the face shield if it becomes damaged or used to a point you need to replace. (Replacement shields I have seen as low as $5 to $10.The fit was great on my medium sized head and was comfortable. I like how it uses a ratchet mechanism which makes for quick easy adjustments. Ratchet has 13 positions to rotate and adjust with. The upper headrest once on allows for an easy adjustment of the shield. (Five positions.)Downfalls would entail the helmet lacking padding on the read of the head support system and pricing was a little on the high side when compared to similar masks with same ratings.Note – Sounds gross, however, if you use your spit and rub the interior of the mask before using, it will eliminate the potential fog up from your breath. Or you can use special products designed to do this. Mine does not seem to fog up to a point of being a problem unless I begin getting a good workout going with the task at hand.

This thing is great! When I found out I'd be playing with liquid nitrogen, my first thought was that of protecting my beautiful face. Bam! Face-shield to the rescue. Covers comfortably from my neck all the way up past my prematurely receding hairline.Ratcheting strap in back is super duper convenient, and the shield itself doesn't scratch if I'm a little too rough with my half-nibbled fingernails (which my girlfriend constantly tells me are too sharp), or any other accidental drops n' whatnot for that matter. The best part is, when I lift up the shield, it stays there! We've got some old crap ones laying around that are prone to "rapid shield closure", RSC as the boys have affectionately referred to it. Coupled with the secure ratchet strap I can now safely lift the shield up and down without worry. Sorry Little Bunny Foo-Foo, you're gonna have to find some other field mice to bop on the head!

This is a well made product that stays in place. It is easy to adjust and you can make it fit tight if you are moving around a lot amd don't want it to slide off.The IS NOT a light weight virus screen. It is designed to protect your face from flying objects, sparks, fragments etc.I really like the fact the shield comes down to cover your throat. Nobody wants a grinding wheel fragment in the jugular. Don't listen to the virus princesses, yes wearing protective equipment can be uncomfortable all day, but millions of people wear them everyday in industrial environments. If you want to pretend to block viruses, get a cheaper light weight one. This one is for protection from serious injury.

This is 3M quality. I use this as a face shield during work. It’s a tad heavy- they coul have made it lighter by using carbon fiber or graphite. But still a great face protector

Comfort, protection, light, very clear, easy to wash, big enough, long, pretty, cover the head, adjust, wide enough, it’s a hard plastic, etc

I bought this for use at work as an added layer against Covid; disposable mask worn under. It's relatively light, about 8 oz, and fully adjustable & comfortable. I like that you can buy replacement polycarbonate lens if needed, and the fact that the ratcheting lens assembly can be flipped up easily. However, 8 oz seems much heavier if you wear this for more than an hour or so. After a full shift it is heavy, enough to give you a headache. For it' s primary intended function of protecting your face & eyes from flying metal & other foreign objects, it is very good. But for more prolonged use as a "spit" guard vs Covid, it gets very uncomfortable if worn for hours.
