I only use this thread but this is what the spool I just opened looks like. It has so many cut in the thread, renderings it unusable. Amazon is working with me but it is past the return date. However, I'm sure a lot of quilters buy this thread to always have some on hand. So it may ba a few months after purchase before the spool is opened.
