I have used coil spring compressors for years this one is great except for no way to lock the top portion and keep it from moving. I had to compress some Rock Krawler front springs which are extremely long. These kept popping off and sliding because of no lock out on the top. I only had to use them for the longer springs and they definitely don't seem safe for those.

Wouldn’t compress a Lexus strut enough to change. Hade to make something to finish the job.

These spring compressors worked great, was a bit unsure when I purchased them since I’ve had ones from the auto parts store bend on me doing struts on a car. These easily compressed the springs on my Ram 1500. Never once did they feel unsafe or bend at all. Like other reviewers I cleaned and lightly greased the threads. I did not use a impact gun, just a ratchet and socket. 10 rotations of the screw at a time per side about 30 rotations required to free the spring. The storage case seems well built and has slide catches to secure closed. Nice kit, made an unpleasant job go very smooth.

Hab die Federbeine MB W639 mit schrägen untere Feder Tellern gemacht. Spanner sind stabil und tun was sie sollen. Die Spindeln laufen gut. Hab ich vor Gebrauch gefettet. Ich denke, wenn man drauf achtet, daß nichts verkantet, alles mit gerade montiert ist und man abwechsel spannt rödeln auch die Gewindespindeln nicht kaputt. Die Klauen machen auch einen stabilen Eindruck.Für den gelegentlichen Gebrauch bestimmt ein gutes Tool

I used these spring compressors to fit new heavy duty springs all round my Landrover . So easy to use ( it did not come with any instructions) also the 2 half moon brackets were useless on the springs as could not get them to fit to each compressor . Did the job well and well worth the money . The cheapo spring compressors I bought previous were bent out of shape after the 2nd use , The build quality and ease of use is very good and have served me well . Threads are perfect after use . Worth using a little oil or wd40 to lubricate the threads from time to time
