It works very well. Only negative is magnet is so strong it's hard to move.I love it tho. Teaching my 10 yr old niece to sew and it is a good guide.

These magnetic seam guides work wonderful! They stay where I put them and unless I bump them fairly roughly they stay in place well. I am so thankful that someone invented something to help me keep my seams all the same size easier than just using the plate of the sewing machine. I tend to not be able to sew a good straight line, even with my glasses on!I am one thankful customer for these little miracles.

Most of my machine is a plastic exterior/metal interior, so magnetized gadgets don’t work. This grabbed on so quickly it was too far from the seam line and was a little bit of effort to move! Once it’s in place, it stays there! I was going to share with friends, but now I’m feeling very greedy. :()

These little seam guides have very strong magnets. Once I put one in place it did not move. If you need a guide to say in place this will do the trick. Because the magnet is so strong I found I cannot put it too close to the bobbin underneath because on my sewing machine there are metal moving parts underneath that cannot move because of the strong magnet.

The magnets are nice and strong! It was not moved out of place by the fabric while I was sewing nor by bumping it with my hand. I found this a lot easier to follow than the faintly marked lines and it gives me confidence that I am sewing a neat and consistent hem. There are no instructions included but it’s intuitive to use. I appreciate that there are 3 included because it’s very easy to misplace sewing tools so having a backup is always helpful! I have 2 machines so I can keep one attached to each and store a spare one as well. One thing to be aware of is that it sticks only to the metal plate part of your machine, so its usefulness may be limited by how wide that is on your machine. For example, on my vintage machine (beige one pictured) I wanted to place the seam guide at 1 ½†out but the metal plate part was not wide enough. The base of the machine is metal but not magnetic. On the other machine the plate is much wider so I have more options of where to place it. I still like this a lot better than my previous solution of a piece of tape, because tape does not physically guide the fabric and it can peel up or leave sticky residue. I think this is a good value and useful for any sewer.
