I have a newer ceiling fan with the remote and the light suddenly died. I took off the cover and found a 4 inch light plate that was wired up. I found this replacement and it was fairly easy to swap. just clipped off the old one and used the included splice to hook up the new one. It worked great, but the magnetic standoffs were a little too short due to a bulge in the wiring harness. I was able to make a set of spacers from a piece of hollow plastic and then used longer screws and now it fits Over that bulge. Without the new standoff it took 5 minutes. Still only took my 15 minutes as it was.

This light is nice and bright with a relatively easy process for adjusting the temperature. I wish it had a 3500K, though, since the 3000k is too yellow and the 4000K starts getting a slight blue tint. Still, once you figure out the disassembly for the original fan lighting, this isn't that difficult to install. It is held by magnets that are mounted to the back side of the plate, and the wires come with a two-sided clip that's quite easy to connect. Overall, I'm happy with the results and glad for the improved lighting.

One of the ceiling fans in my home is a Hampton Bay Windward II from 2001. A few years ago, the fluorescent ballast went bad, so I threw a replacement ballast into my "Saved for later" list. As I have other sources of lighting in that room, it became one of those low-priority repairs that'd I'd just get to at some point, eventually. Recently, I finally decided to tackle my fan's non-working light issue and wouldn't you know it, that replacement ballast has now become unobtainium. In my hunt for some sort of retrofit lighting solution, I discovered this kit and it appeared to be exactly what I needed.Installation was a simple process of turning off the power, removing the failed ballast and old light bulb, then connecting this light to the existing wires which were previously attached to the ballast. The light itself mounts to the fan with three included magnets, which is very convenient since there's no need to worry about screws not lining up. After flipping the power back on, the light function on my fan's remote now worked as expected. Turning the light on and off in rapid succession switches between the three different color temperature options, and the warmest one is, to the best of my recollection, almost a perfect match for "warm" circline bulbs that the fan used to use.Overall, I'm very happy with this, and it's an excellent value over getting a new ceiling fan if you have one like mine where parts for the built-in lighting feature have become obsolete.

I didn't notice before I bought But there is no way to change the color of the light between bright white and warm other than turning on and off the light multiple times. It's supposed to stay on the color you pick but it doesn't so basically every time I turn on the light I got to flick to switch five or six times to get to the color I want.. I'm about to return it

I got this to replace a 9" fluorescent tube in a ceiling fan. You can see in the 2nd photo, it is pretty small compared to the space for the old light. Even though it is only 4 inches diameter, it is brighter than the old 9" tube and it is also brighter than a previous fan light where I used a different 5" LED.I would purchase this again

Rather then ditch a fan with a bad LED module, I got this to swap out the light. Wiring it up was easy, and with the magnetic feet, it couldn't be any easier to attach to the fan housing.

Pretty easy to assemble and install with basic knowledge of electricity. To be safe make sure to turn off the power to the circuit breaker cuz it involves messing with live wires. 3 screws and it was ready to replace with white and black wire. This 20W led one was a bit brighter than my old 18W one and it worked out well. Hopefully it will last a longer as well.

I have an 8-year-old Home Decorators Aero Ceiling Fan with a built-in light. The original light was too yellow for my liking, so I decided to replace it with a cooler, whiter option. After measuring the existing light, I purchased this 4-inch ceiling fan light retrofit.Thankfully, my handy husband replaced the LED light for me. This new light offers three color temperature settings—warm, neutral, and daylight—which I really appreciate. While the product claims to be dimmable, I couldn’t test that feature because mine didn’t dim. I suspect the issue lies with my 8-year-old fan’s remote or receiver rather than the LED light itself. I could purchase and replace the remote and receiver for around $35, but I’d rather save the money and buy a new fan when the time comes.Overall, I’m happy with this product and would definitely recommend it!Update: I replaced the battery in my remote, and now the dimmer works! It can dim after all.
