These are perfect for those instances where you find a cool looking rock and you want to turn it into jewelry without damaging it or spending the time to wire-wrap it. I especially like that it is fast to swap stones to create a new necklace/bracelet. The cage does well in adapting to the size of the rock—I tried both a tall and skinny crystal and a shorter fat rock and both looked good. One important thing to note is that the rock’s length can’t be more than where the top of the cage is (otherwise it tries to pop out despite the bead on the top). For my tall and skinny rock, that length was 1.5 inches, while the fatter rock was about halfway between 1.25 and 1.5 inches in length.
