Purchased this set to use with my mini scuba tank, for short dives while out snorkeling. Weights are well coated, belt seems good, so I am taking it to Maui for a lengthy field test in a few weeks.

If you need a little weight to help you dive down when snorkeling with up to a very thin wetsuit, this is a great option.At a total of 4.4 lbs, it is probably not enough weight for a full thick wetsuit, or full scuba diving rig. You would have to probably add more weights unless you are extremely densely muscled, or quite small. But it would be no big deal to add some weights to this belt.It's a typical weed belt, with a toothed clamp buckle, so there is nothing special there. Although the description says it is for waist 55" to 59.1", that is ridiculously large. There is absolutely no reason though that you could not just tighten the belt as much as you want, and even cut off and heat seal the web to make it more your size.What I most like about this product though is the vinyl coated weights, in bright yellow. The coating makes them easy to handle, slip on the belt and protects them from corrosion. The color makes the whole thing easier to see should you drop your belt or a weight in the water.

These weights are 1lb, 2oz each. They are not big weights, so with 4 of them for a total of 4lbs, 8oz, will work well with those diving with very light wet suits or none at all. Having a coating on the weights makes for a none catching set of weights that are also fairly low profile. The belt is a typical dive belt with metal clasp and conventional 2" wide webbing. It holds the weights very comfortably. Overall, the set is not inexpensive, but it is good quality.
