You’ll need a drill and likely 5/16 bit to drill out the rivet type axle on your old wheels. To get the old wheel removed, I held the axle from spinning while drilling using a drywall screw between the axle and rubber/plastic wheel on the opposite side of drilling. The kit provides 3 screw/axle sizes and washers for shims to do the repair. To hold an inside shim washer in place on each new wheel, I used a tiny drop of crazy glue gluing the washer to the wheel center bearing before assembly. I finished the job with a squirt of silicone lubricant on each bearing after assembly. The new wheels are excellent; better than the luggage when new. This kit saved the luggage from the dumpster.

Just received and installed the set today for my Samsonite carry-on, fit perfectly. These replacement wheels have ball bearings, the original ones do not. The new wheels run more smoothly. I used the 30mm axles.

Used these wheels to replace lightweight, light duty original wheels on my spinner bag. I pull heavy weights on/in this bag, often rolled tilted instead of in four-wheel spinner mode. Heavy, as in 100 pounds, balanced on two wheel assemblies. Original wheels literally melted and fused. This very complete kit facilitated replacing them as shown in the pictures. I went to the hardware store for a few extra stainless washers to fill slight gaps in the assembly, but you could also grind down the axle slightly to do the same thing. Each wheel has two cartridge ball bearings in it, which are replaceable, so I don't expect to ever have to replace these wheels again for the life of the bag. I travel for a living.
