More stiff and rigid than the original apache foam. Fits 3800 case perfectly.

Great replacement for my Harbor Freight cases. Foam is sturdier than the OEM stuff too, so that’s a plus. I come back here whenever I need another set.

The foam is very good quality better than what came with it but was nearly the cost of the case! Still Im glad it is out there for purchase. The stock foam in the Apache 3800 barely lasted a year. The other difference is this foam has 1/2 inch squares while the stock foam was 5/8 ths. This allowed me to fit 70 knives instead of 62. So two layers 140 pieces to pluck! You really have to be careful pulling the foam apart. The best way is to hold each connection be both hands/fingers and gently pull to rip. It took me about two hours to pluck mine. If you tear a connection by accident (easy to do) glue together with Aleenes Felt&Foam glue here on Amazon. It takes an hour to dry. Good luck hope this helps.

I haven't bought this yet but noticed people saying they're plucking or tearing out squares. You obviously went to harbor freight for the case. They have an exacto knife kit with long and short blades. I have a few of the cases and that's what I've used every time. You can cut the blocks in half, quarters weird shapes. You're welcome!

A lot firmer than what normally comes in the Apache 3800. Holds its shape a little better so the squares don’t rip off where you don’t want them to.

I used this in my Harbor Freight Apache to repair the original foam. This foam set is very pricey for what it is but I could not find an alternative solution online. The price of this is pretty much the same as a new case from HF but I hate throwing stuff away and decided to refinish my case instead. The piece that is supposed to go on the bottom of the case is cut too short. You can see it leaves about a 1/4 gap. If you center it on the bottom of the case you will be fine as it’s really meant to be a bump stop and you shouldn’t be placing items on the edges of the case. I ended up reusing the original HF one because it fit better. The lid piece is a 100% upgrade. See pictures. The main foam piece in this kit is two pieces unlike the HF one piece. This makes it much better as you can dual stack items if you want.In general this foam is firmer and it is an upgrade from the original. I deducted 2 stars due to price and the bottom foam being too short for the Apache case.

I got this for a specific case and it worked great. It allowed me to reconfigure my case.
