What is turn signal flasher?
Automotive flashers are used in turn signals as well as a hazard or warning flashers. They help to communicate the intentions or actions of one driver to other drivers and pedestrians around them.
Why Should It Be Serviced?
A malfunctioning hazard or turn signal flasher can be a real danger on the road. If your vehicle is suffering from a malfunctioning flashing unit, you're legally required to use turn hand signals until it's fixed. Having this problem repaired as soon as possible is for the best
When Should It Be Serviced?
If your turn signal stays permanently on instead of flashing on and off, it could be a sign that the relay has gone bad. This problem is most likely caused by an electrical issue. Once you notice this symptom, have your vehicle checked right away.
How It's Done
The light bulbs received their power through this device. It's made with two strips of dissimilar metals bonded together. One end was connected to the supply through the switch. The other end would rest on a contact going to the light. As current was being drawn, the metal strips would heat up. Due to their different thermal coefficients, the strip would bend away from the contact, breaking the connection. The strip would cool and bend back, making the connection. It would continue to cycle as long as there was power and a load. This method was used for decades.

I needed this when we upgraded to LED lights on our 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ Sport. We had to remove to screws on the dash area below the steering column. The OEM had a bracket that held the flasher. This one we purchased does not. WE attached the wires with a plastic Zip Tie to other wires to hold in place. Ten to 15 minute job. Turn signals and hazards work normal again.

Wish I knew I could’ve done this before I went and put resistors on my taillights but either way this was a quick easy solution for my front marker lights.

The turn signals on my 2000 TJ jeep wrangler weren't working so I ordered this relay, and although it wasn't the same size as the OEM, it still was able to fit and get my lights working properly again. I just transferred the bracket from the old relay to this one.
