I bought this to have for my grands to reach in the kitchen. It is a cute chair but know is must be assembled. It wasn’t hard but I did use my power drivers to put it together rather than the tiny tools they provided.

It took over a month for this product to be shipped. By the package I got, it seems the seller doesn’t hold stock but orders back to back which is very annoying if you’re waiting for this product.Assembly instructions were another hurdle: small print, skipping steps, obscure parts naming etc.The product itself is generally ok - looks nice and sturdy. Required padding at the bottom because the chair was shaking.

I took me about 1½ hours to assemble this chair. It would have gone faster, but the instructions are poorly written. You know all those stereotypical jokes about trying to read instructions translated from Chinese? These instructions are the reason those jokes exist. One instruction is "Remove the seat top and small spacer on the back with a small size screw mounting." This means "Find the seat." There are mislabeled parts, and it even asks you to assemble the left side on the right. Had I done that, the latch that holds the closed ladder in place would have ended up on the wrong side. One thing that did impress me was the inclusion of a screwdriver with a magnetic tip. Unfortunately, the magnet was too weak to hold a screw for a full second. Now that it is assembled, I have to say it feels very sturdy, even supporting a 190-pound male. We shall see if it holds up. I'm also planning to buy some rubber to glue to the bottoms so it won't scratch up my floor. All in all, it's a good buy if you are not frustrated by bad instructions. Lastly, they included a single knit glove with the kit; I have no idea why.

To start, I really like this chair/stool. It's a nice quality and durable set up that's pretty cool when you see it in person and how it converts. You can easily switch it from a chair to a step stool. I wanted it to be mainly used as a step stool for working on vehicles, in the garage, and around the house. It's so nice looking though, I almost hate to use it in a way that could dirty it. The only thing I don't like about this is the terrible directions!The screws and tools were shipped in a bag, and inside a glove. The bag still was ripped in half at the seam and screws were loose throughout the package. So be careful when you open it or screws may go flying. Then it came time to assemble and the directions made zero sense. You can tell they were written by someone that doesn't use English as their first language. There are a lot of steps left out or don't tell you which size of the 3 screw sizes provided to use. I assemble a lot of things so I just used my common sense to assemble it and it went much faster. I also have a power screwdriver, so I put an Allen key attachment on and that part went so much quicker as well. I was able to put it together by myself in under 30 minutes. Once assembled it feels very sturdy, I have no doubt this will hold me securely whichever way I use it. So while the directions may be cumbersome it is worth it in the end to have a nice versatile chair/step stool.

Fairly easy to put together. Great ladder function too! I do wish it came in another color other than the yellow natural wood. But that will be easily fixed to my liking with paint or stain. Good product! Reminds me of the multi-use chair my dad made years ago!
