I got these as enrichment for my pet mice. I like to hide little treats for them in the spots for eggs and then cover them with bedding or shredded paper so they have to dig for them. My mice also really like chewing on the paper after they've found the treats and hiding inside.

These egg cartons are very sturdy compressed card paper. They hold their shape and protect the eggs well. We use them for our back yard chickens and can sell in half dozens now too which is great since we usually only have dozen cartons. Our eggs are all different sizes and these cartons fit our smallest and largest ones and still close properly.

These egg cartons will hold eggs and the blank top can be stamped but they smell HORRIBLE! The crazy thing is the odor is familiar - it smells almost exactly like commercial chicken droppings that have been pelleted for garden fertilizer. Like the cartons were made with chicken farm waste water. It is really, really strong. I have tried removing them from the plastic packaging fully to air out and exposing them to sunlight to get them to stop stinking but the odor is slow to fade. I've NEVER had this happen with any of the other egg cartons I've received from Amazon from probably 10 different sellers. I don't know why these smell so bad but I don't want to put eggs (food) in them.

They are ok for what they are which is a simple egg carton but if handle them a bit too much the cover will separate from the base which kinda defeats the purpose of protecting eggs. All in all I'd say for one time use they are an ok purchase.

I’m so glad there are so many included in this order because I will use some of them for craft projects and some for their intended use. It’s the time of year when chickens are laying like crazy and these egg cartons are sturdy, small enough to fit in small spaces in the fridge or on the countertop.
