Your lens thread size will be marked somewhere on the lens barrel or printed underneath your lens cap. This number is always preceded by a "φ" (diameter) symbol. For example: φ40.5=40.5mm lens thread size.

For those of us who l♥ve taking pictures, we know how it is to get caught up in focusing on getting the right composition and settings and getting the shot before it's too late, which sometimes causes us not to focus on where we put our lens caps, and we end up losing them --which happened to me twice already! Well, put your concerns to rest like I can now, and get this 2 pack lens cap covers with keepers! They have elastic bands that wrap around your lens and a cord that attaches to the outside rim of these lens caps. They come with a little metal tool that makes it very easy to not only push the cord through the tiny hole but also the tool helps you pull the cord through from the other side. Then simply pull it through the loop and it's secure and out of your way when you are ready to take your next shot. Since the hole is on the outside rim of the lens cap it does not interfere with attaching the lens cap to your lens. The lens caps fit well and you get two for a very good price!Before deciding to purchase these lens caps I did a lot of research on all of the different lens caps available to purchase and chose these because the ones that have an elastic cord but do not tie directly to your lens cap and instead have a sticky tab have a high risk of wearing out over time which will cause you to lose another lens cap, whereas these are securely attached with a cord.The seller, ULBTER-US, offers very good customer service! They contacted me a few times even before I received my lens caps assuring me that they want me to be happy with my purchase. If you happen to run into a problem I am sure they will do whatever it takes to make things right for you.

The top cap in my hand is the Sony one. You can see there are better threads on the after market cap.It seems to go on easier, and lock into place much more securely.I've half a mind to just toss the original.Having the string is super nice. I've attached it to my lens and works perfectly there.No more worrying about losing my lens cap! I just knew it was a matter of time before I didn't get it on right and bumped it off.The little pin will help you push the string through the hole to tie it on.
