You get 40 picture cards. You can pick the ones you want to use and just clip them together. It comes with a sturdy plastic corded ring that holds the cards together. A great communication devise. I bought these for my aunt who had a stroke which affected her speech. I highly recommend.

Bought these for my speech delayed 3 yo. Some of the cards are repetitive and it's so many cards that it's overwhelming for a little to sort through. BUT they are sturdy and cute, we pulled a few out at a time and learned them. Will gradually work up to the rest without throwing too much at him at once.
