Q1: How to buy a replacement battery for your laptop?
Method 1: Use System Information to find your laptop model
- Step 1: Press Windows + R to open Run window.
- Step 2: Input "msinfo32" in the empty box and click OK to open System Information.
- Step 3: Keep in the System Summary section, and you will find the System Model item in the right pane.
Method 2: Remove Battery from Laptop to find your laptop battery part number
- Step 1: Switch off the laptop and unplug the power cable in case of electric shock
- Step 2: Remove the back panel with the screwdriver. You should to this with care avoiding any harm to the laptop components.
- Step 3: Disconnect the cable connected to the battery and then take out the battery. After that, you can check the specifications of your battery.
Q2: Why the laptop does not recognize the battery？
- Could be caused by battery loose. Please re-install the battery and make sure that the battery cable and the motherboard interface are tightly inserted.
- Maybe due to conductive material damaged which the laptop motherboard and battery anode and cathode contact position, you can try to confirm it with your original battery.
- Check whether the battery drive is in normal condition, if not, download the corresponding driver software to update.

I have a lap top which I only use when traveling and I let the original battery go too long without charging it. With a few recharges it came back to life but I ordered the replacement just in case. The installation of the new battery was easy and it works at least as well as the original.

Had Dell latitude 3310 that would not charge and had a "could not determine charger" boot warning. I had an extra power brick to test with. Replaced battery and bingo, back to normal. I am familiar with opening laptops, it's not hard, most folks can do it. Just read up on how to undo the connectors and take apart the case and be careful. This battery exchange was not bad. Mileage varies by model though.

Computer would not come on, even when plugged in. Within 10 minutes this battery was put in and laptop is fully operational now.I charged it about 20-30 minutes, before turning on for the first time, just in case it didn't have a charge. Ended up above 90% and good to go.

**Update (7/9/2024): The battery is still working great and gives me hours of computer time. The cable attaching the battery to the computer does not sit nicely like the original did so there is a bit of a bulge that affects using the touchpad. It doesn't make the machine unusable though. I have to press the touchpad a few times to get a response from it but it doesn't happen 24/7 so I'm living with it. (Also I should note, I have another computer I use for work but I still do use this computer a lot as I am in school and running other side businesses). I work in IT and could certainly try to fix it but after working on other people's machines all day I have no desire to, haha. To be honest I'm going to use this machine and deal with the touchpad until it gives up the ghost or until I find a computer I like enough to replace it with.**Original: The original battery to my computer (Dell Inspiron 5482) was not holding a charge and was physically bulging so I bought this battery as a direct replacement. It was relatively easy to install. The place where the cable attaches to the battery is not in the exact same spot as on my original battery. There was slack on the line that I was able to move so that the battery would sit in the proper place and still be plugged in. I haven't had it long enough to test the battery but I will update later.

My laptop died if it was off its umbilical chord for more than five minutes, so this new battery has been live changing. I’m constantly impressed with the lifespan! Installation was simple. Takes a while to charge but it holds its charge really well!

All of the other batteries I have purchased and replaced for other laptops in the past have come with a new connector that plugs into the computer. This battery does not, and that was something I was not prepared for (I thought it was just missing but customer service said that it is not something that comes with this battery when I asked about it)- and the process of removing the connector from the old battery and connecting it to the new one was by far the hardest part of installing the new battery. The connector in question is circled in the first attached image, and you can see it in the second image with the new battery installed - it is the rainbow set of wires. The black cover around the wires had to be removed to detach the connector from the original battery.The placement of the connector on the battery is not the same as on the original dell battery that came with the computer- so the cable does not lay flat when the new battery is installed. A picture of the cable having to lay on top of the battery after the new one was plugged in is attached.The case did close and the new battery is completing its first charge up now and I do not anticipate any issues with its performance.
