I used this product to cover and waterproof two van windows. I have always had an issue cutting diamond plate. I use tin snips this time for better control but this bends the plate and mars around corners. I use a matte paint to cover scratches. I left them unpainted in the pics so you can see what I am writing about. Using a jigsaw may be better, as long as you keep the plate held down with clamps. Less bending that way. I cannot seem to stay on the line, so I create more filing work. I love the way it turns out eventually and think it is a great product. The anodized and painted plate ended up with noticeable marks that are less of a problem when using plain silver diamond plate. I imagine a professional with the right cutting tools would do a much better job. I am impatient and just get in there and do it. In my case, none of this is a big deal since the van is a “Mad Max†type vehicle that can look rough!

I was hesitant, but my fear was unfounded. I got a 6" by 10' section to add to my trailer ramp under the hockey pucks. It was shipped in a box (rounded) and arrived with a protective covering on the face. I trimmed it with a pair of offset sheer metal scissors (worked great). It looks awesome, I am very pleased!

I got this diamond plate strip to add a smooth transition to a lift gate ramp. I knew it would be thin and had intentions to cut it in half and double it up, but even at that rate, it is too weak to step on the edge if it is raised in the air. Right after I purchased and installed this, my local Lowe's started stocking an 1/8" thick, 4' long heavy diamond plate that would have been stronger and likely support weight better so I'm a tad sad but this will work at least for a while. It would be suitable for most applications. The machine I drive on to this ramp weighs about 1600 pounds.

They dropped my garage door during the installation. I used this as trim to hide where it dented the bottom. Worked out perfectly and I love it.
