You can directly water the roots. The roots will adhere to the clay walls of the watering basin over time, providing a slow and stable irrigation process

I ordered two sets. One set arrived damaged, but packaging was intact. Seller replaced them, but should consider other packaging options. Works as intended.

I have been looking for ollas less than 3L but greater than 1L in capacity. These should work despite the lip of one of them was damaged in transit.

Good easy to include in plant pot. I added them to some recently already potted plants. Very simple to water now.

This set arrived undamaged, well protected with foam packaging. Using these terracotta watering pots is simple and just needs ample space. We are using these in our large indoor planters with plenty of dirt. Shallow roots will interfere with the placement of these pots. After a couple days, the terracotta pots were dry, so they are certainly doing its job with its porous material keeping the soil moist as needed. It includes a nice cap to keep dirt and other debris out, and adds to the rustic appearance. Speaking on that, the color is night and vibrant and looks very pleasing. I recommend these for watering planters!

I have used the terra-cotta spikes with wine bottles for many years and they work well. When I saw these pots it seemed to be an interesting alternative. It unfortunately did not work as expected. Soaked first then planted in the pot and filled with water. A couple days passed and I then noticed the water was depleted and had over flowed the saucer and leaked all over. It doesn’t seem like the pot is able to regulate the rate in which the water is dispensed. I’m going to give it one more chance. Maybe pack the soil in more.Update: repotted the plant using more soil and have waited a couple of days and sure enough the saucer is once again filling up. I think my conclusion is that the terracotta pot has so much surface area that it’s dispensing water at a rate faster than the soil can absorb therefore it’s draining into the saucer. My moisture meter confirms the soil is “wet.†Maybe these would be better suited for a larger plant. I’ll be going back to the terra-cotta stakes with wine bottles instead for a plant this size.

I have tried so many types of watering stakes and thought these would be a good alternative for when I need longer between watering. I found these to work well but mainly in my bigger plant pots. I have a couple monstera plants that are in medium sized pots and these kept the soil way too wet. They were basically empty and the soil was soaked. In my bigger plant pots they were good, keeping the soil moist but not drenched. I think it has to do with my typical stakes being glass and having less area for the water to come out of and these being completely open essentially. I like them, though now they have a narrowed use window for me. I think the price is on par with other watering stakes I've bought. Overall if I had more large plants/plant pots I would get more of these since they work well for that.

I've been building a pond by hand, and as it's starting to near its final stages and ready for plants and fish, a terracotta theme has been forming. It might be hard to tell in this picture, but with these guys included, I now have terracotta pots from an inch tall to two feet tall. I'm hoping to continue to expand that until it looks like a little terracotta graveyard with moss and goldfish. These were a great step in that direction and I was really pleased with how they were shipped. I would absolutely get more.

I've been using make shift ollas out of terra cotta pots for quite some time now and they are great for watering the peppers in my garden. These are small enough that they would work wonderful in a pot as well. I'm always forgetting to water my outdoor pots so the plants dry out quickly so using these will help a ton. I'll be able to check if there's water once in a while and kind of forget about them. They each have a lid to reduce evaporation and the mouth is wide enough to make filling them easy.
