First off. This thing is perfect if you know what you need. If you are unsure hopefully I can expand the description a bit for you with what it is best bought for. These are my complaints against it. Very minor and not of importance. The speaker is kind of weak, loud and clear but not for much more than confirmation audio. It also needs specific usb power (I won't over-explain, just that not EVERY usb you have will work for it). Also it has the smallest bit more blur/gtg than top tier ips displays. Screen is 'exposed' but I also think you won't be using it in situations where that will damage it.As for benefits. One model seems to come with a useful hdmi adapter, to adapt hdmi. I would get that model. The OSD has all I needed to get the picture looking vivid and sharp, easy volume and power buttons for quick operation too. It mounts in many different ways including having the posts for mounting stuff like a pi, if you needed to. The usb/hdmi/stand/adapter all work fine for me. Screen viewing angle is about as good as you can get for this type of lcd, also bright enough for bright room use. Outer casing is solid and doesn't feel like it will warp or bend at all.I tested it with my Steam Deck, ROG Ally, laptop, desktop, sever, etc. The only devices that gave trouble were things like Android/iOS, that really dislike the idea of 720p. It could be used to make an ROG Ally or Steam Deck into a "2ds" lol. Some added more tech inclined info. No, usbc-dp doesn't work. It is just for power. You can't get video of usbc and it never said it could on their page but of course I tested it.DC35135 barrel worked. But no added benefit. Aux port works and sounds decent enough for basic uses.1/4 inch hole thread is very shallow. Of course it is, the device is very thin. But I was still able to mount it to random things even when shallow and not deep.I only had a pi5 and it mounted fine.I 100% recommend this if you need a small portable monitor. It works perfect for checking my 'headless' server or doing bios stuff on any of my builds. It doesn't take up much space at all so I can pull it out easier than my 'portable' 16-17 inch monitors. For me... running a bios update and resetting my bios up with this was about as easy as it comes.

I bought this to try with a Walksnail Avatar VRX and mounted to an old reflector box goggle, and I can report that it works awesome. Obviously I had to do some shimming and fabrication to make it mount up, but once I figured out all of that I now have another set of HD FPV goggles. The only reason that I didn't give 5 stars is that I don't have enough time on it to see how it holds up, or how the long use battery consumption is, but so far it's great for my use case. Cheers

Able to take it with me while working on sites that has a computer just sitting there with no monitor. Connect this and do what I need. Don't need to carry a big monitor, just to do a little job. This has helped speed up recovery times at a few sites, just because I wasn't looking for a monitor. At this time I do know a few techs that is looking, if not already, to have in there bags for our company.

I recently built a new computer with AMD Ryzen 9 CPU and AMD Radeon GPU. I wanted to add a sensor panel. Even with the primary monitor disconnected, the would not connect to the computer. I tried connecting it to the GPU HDMI. I tried connecting it to the motherboard HDMI (CPU integrated graphics). I tried connecting it using a USB C to HDMI adapter. It does not work in either instance. I do get an image when booting up the computer while it is still functioning in VGA mode. As soon as it Windows 11 starts, I get an "OUT OF RANGE" error. The VIEWMEI5 does work just fine when used with an Intel CPU aand NVIDIA GPU. Thus, rather than returning the small monitor, I will use it as a sensor panel on another computer.I ordered a new 7" FullHD monitor for the AMD computer. I hope it works.

I got this monitor to fill a specific purpose, monitoring and miantaining headless Raspberry pi's, and it is perfect for that. (I'll explain moe in a minute for those who arean't familiar with R Pi. But if you're looking at this monitor, you probably are, right?) But because it is in its own enclosure, and comes with multiple cables for different systems, it's also very handy for many other uses.Attach a R pi to the back using the included hardware, add a battery based power supply and it becomes a nice portable gaming machine.Add a wireless keyboard and mouse to that set up, and you have a small ultra portable computer system.Hang the monitor on the wall or set it on your desk as a digital picture frame.Use it as a display for a weather station, a HAM radio control display, or any other project. The screen itself is rated for 720p, but can handle 1080p signals, but at just 5", 1080p is overkill. The additional resolution gets lost. Brightness is decent. It won't be great outside in the sun, but in any interioir room, even a well lit one, the picture is clear and bright.PROS:Bright sharp imageEnclosure protects the screen adding versatility to the monitorComprehensive hardware package, including plenty of cablesEasy to use controls, both on the physical unit itself, and the On Screen DisplayCONS:Speakers are there, but for a monitor this small and inexpensive, the sound quality is nothing to get excited about.I'd love to have a touchscreen, but that's not going to happen at this pricepoint. Now, about the headless Pi. I have several Pis running everything from my HAM radio set up to my weather station to my Christmas lights. Each of these are set up to run without attached monitors, keyboards etc. I set them up so I can access them remotely through my desktop. That's called headless. If something goes wrong and I can't connect to the Pi remotely, I need to be able to easily hook up a monitor so I can see what's going on. This little screen handles the job perfectly. It's small enough to lve in my toolkit, so I can grab the Pi, hook up the monitor, and see exactly where the problem is.I'm most likely going to order another one of these to set up as a portable gaming system.
