these were priced well below the sony lens caps. They work okay for a replacement cap. The sony ones are easier to use, and stay on better, but I lose so many caps that these are a good value

I lost my cap in a field. I know some photographers don't use them, but I am a bit more careful and wanted a cap. The Canon name brand ones were not available at the time, so I bought these. They work. Not much that can fail and if it does, well, there are five.But why five?? Who will ever need five?Maybe me. I did lose my first one within a month of having the lens. HA HA! In my defense, I have not lost my cap for my other lens yet and I've had that one 8 months.

They fit perfectly on the front of the 58 mm lens threads. Good caps. No cap.

These are the least expensive lens caps I could find. They fit the lens perfectly. I always carry an extra lens cap in my camera bag in case I lose one. I didn't realize that the cap has a tiny hole drilled on the side so you can attach a piece of string (included). You could tie the other end of the string to the lens in some way so that the cap can't get lost. I would prefer a cap with no hole so that dust or debris has no way of getting under the cap. However, the cap is more to protect against physical damage of the lens, not so much to protect against dust. After all, anytime I use the camera the lens cap is off, so the lens is constantly exposed to the elements. Other people may prefer the hole and string.

I usually buy lens caps to replace lost or broken ones. I've bought several sets of these in various sizes and have used them to replace existing manufacturers lens caps. They fit great and work just like original equipment. Who needs a logo when these are perfect.
