The RS240 sander base has 4 pins sticking out from it that are suppose to fit into the pad. I assume for support. The replacement pad does not have the 4 corresponding holes. ADDITION, after much searching I could not find a replacement pad that had the positing holes, even from Ryobi which is what I would expect from Ryobi, honestly not a fan. I ended up using the old pad as a templet for drilling 4 new holes in the replacement pad. I have received questions about weather or not the replacement pad comes with screws, IT DOES NOT.

There is virtually no velcro on this disc. It will not hold sanding disc's at all.
