These popped up as recommended for D type panel applications. They may work for some situations, but for me using them to attach off-brand XLR connectors, they weren't the best option.If I were to really tighten down, I would certainly pull the screw head through the connector hole. Also, attaching to a laser cut knockout panel, the nuts would actually pull through as well.M2.5 is a little to small.I found M3 to be the better size. There's a nice stainless kit M3 kit with washers and lock washers on here.There's nothing wrong with this product, just what it's recommended for.

Make sure you have some precision tools. These are difficult to use otherwise….but not impossible.

These are exactly what they say. 8 mm is pretty short. One of the jacks I was mounting had a thicker plastic chassis and the screw was too short to hold it. If you're mounting anything thicker than around 3mm / â…› inch, look for longer screws.
