I've recently added a 1.5kw spindle motor to the cnc I built. It came with a 65mm holder, but with only 2 screws (one on each side), I wanted a more substantial holder.I bought this holder, because the listing photo showed a holder that looked nicely finished. To my surprise, it looks just like the Amazon photo. I've owned spindle mounts that are fairly rough looking, one in particular didn't square the spindle in the mount. This one does.It's very nicely finished. If a company takes the time to polish the aluminum, then they take the time to ensure that the mount is properly made.The mount only opens on one side and therefore it's made in one single piece, unlike most spindles that come in 2 pieces. I had to use a screwdriver to open it a bit more to get the spindle in, which is good, in my opinion. It made it a lot easier mounting the heavy, long spindle. I usually have to balance everything, using 2 hands to do something that requires 3 hands. With this mount being a single piece, it was easy to mount and adjust. All mounts hold spindles securely; this one is secure and accurate.

It may be hit or miss if this works as a modification for any particular CNC -- there isn't a real consistent standard for mounting arrangements for them. But if it happens to match yours, or you're doing a DIY, it's great.Bonus, too, that there's enough meat to the solid aluminum areas to be able to be drilled-tapped to customize.It's, frankly, kind of surprising a well machined lump of aluminum is selling at this price.

Fit my little spindle perfectly, bolting it up was pretty straight forward, had to drill a couple of blind holes to mount a misting system, but the aluminum was clean, no voids at all. This is a good buy if you're building your own, or if you change to a 52mm spindle.
