This was a good buy as gift for sister. Bought to hold oversized (18") concave plate for large dining table.

I thought it was a little overpriced for what it was, especially adding in the shipping, but it's perfectly adequate for what it does. I thought it would seem a little larger, I ordered the large and it still seems small, even though I had looked at the dimensions. But it holds an old pot fairly stable so I cannot complain.

I have a very small Old World globe that came with a fiberboard stand. Over the years the stand has broken down. I was so happy to find this sturdy, attractive replacement stand that is just the right size.

Waned a simple "BASIC" stand for the stainless steel ball. Would beeasy enough to draw sphere's circumference on a piece of paper andruler a chord at the approximate circumference of the stand -- butwe're still not sure what actually happens in 3D. This size stand hasa 5.5" INTERIOR diameter. 12" diameter ball sits in the inside of thering, pretty obviously. OK but precarious.……….Stand legs are welded well but a bit sloppy, metal slightlyhumps above horizontal top of the ring. Not a biggie for my use.……….Color is no way bronze. More like dirty black. The stand canbe spray painted any color, or coated in plastic-dip. if I get the time.Stand cost 7.99 -- shipping charged was 7.49 -- kind of bugs me, butit's worth $15, size and height, to perch this crazy gazing ball.……….If yer interested, here's a tip if you have tottering adults orchildren or wagging tails: get a roll of Grey Butyl Tape 1/16"x1/2"x30' or less (for RV/Mobile home), amazon $15. NOT PUTTY TAPE.Use small beads of this sticky clay-like stuff to seat whatever youare displaying on to the ring stand. Same to bottoms of feet on thestand. Survive small quakes. Stays sticky, removes patiently, leavesnothing behind. Ebb
