I like this comprehensive set of stainless-steel screws. It has a nice variety of diameters and lengths, and the construction of the screws is good. The heads are strong and not easily stripped by the screwdriver tip. The finish is smooth and consistent. The threads are clean and true, and the tips are very sharp. However, despite the listing description, they are not self-tapping. To be self-tapping, they need to have a drill bit style tip. I have noticed that this is a common claim lately, but to me it is not an accurate description. A sharp tip doesn’t make a screw self-tapping. While it may go into the wood easily, it is doing nothing to stop possible splitting of the wood. They have organized this set in a nice plastic case, with each size in its own section for easy identification and access. Overall, this set is a great variety of “non self-tapping†screws and it is a good value.

These self-tappers are good for what they are. By no means are they "professional grade", but as long as you know that going in and only use them in appropriate applications it is a great variety set.

I like to build my projects large or small with real hardwood, so I need to use strong sharp screws for the assemble of my made to last projects.This set has almost every size screw I use when building, from the short delicate screws for building smaller wooden boxes or cabinets, to the longer more sturdy screws for building things like bed frames, chairs, or even large book shelves, No more hunting for the perfect screws I need for a special project, because they are all here in this one little package. This set even gives you a choice of both flat head that can be counter sunk flush with the wood, or round head for a more visible industrial look. I knocked off one star for the thin plastic case that had one latch already broken off when it arrived, but it still works, and the solid well tooled screws are what's important to me.

Remember when you'd go to the neighborhood hardware store and you'd snatch up a few of those screw/nut/washer assortments from the bargain bin, only to find half of them corroded a year or two later? This is because they were made from carbon steel with a zinc coating. The zinc coating keeps some of the rust at bay, but given enough time it will still rust, especially with condensation from temperature fluctuations and exposure to the elements.This kit does not suffer from that problem. The screws are all made from 304 stainless steel. They have that familiar shine, and as expected they are not magnetic. This is the real deal.The packaging is no-stress. Each screw size is individually bagged so that you don't end up with a jumbled mess that you have to sort out post-delivery. The case itself is pretty typical of these sorts of kits. Good enough, but nothing special.With this kit, half of the screws have flat countersunk cross-drive (Phillips) heads, while the other half have rounded cross-drive (Phillips) heads. The countersunk heads work well for wood-to-wood applications as well as plastic-to-wood or wherever else countersinking might be appropriate. The rounded heads would be equally at home joining sheet metal/plastic to wood or sheet metal to sheet metal, although pre-drilling will likely be needed for the latter application.The manufacturing process for these screws has created screws that look to be of excellent quality, with well-formed heads and threads. They're a pleasure to use and will hold up well in whatever projects I decide to use them in.You get a lot of fasteners with this kit. If you are a DIYer, this will last you a very long time. If you are a new maker or just getting started with woodworking, this is a good all-around kit for you to get your feet wet with.
