I have ordered two sets of these copper rods so far, and will order a third. I use them as stakes in the ground to deter the raccoons and squirrels from going through (with their hands), my garden things and making a mess. The squirrels dig in my potted plants and my compost pile so they can bury nuts, and the raccoons dig in the compost pile so they can find snails. Both the raccoons and the squirrels make messes, and the squirrels have killed my potted plants by disrupting the roots too much. I usually place biscuit sized rocks in my potted plants and that deters the squirrels, but, I ran out, and decided to try these copper rods instead, especially since they also act like a little fence to hold my compost pile back, too. Plus, as copper rods, these help the plants to be more healthy, so they are a very good choice for me. At first, I was a little worried that tweekers would steal them and sell them for cash, but that's not a concern at all, not one little iota. These copper rods don't need to stick out a lot to be effective, so mine only stick out about 3-4 inches and they work great, you can't even see that they're there. I wish I had thought of these a long time ago!! I highly recommend these, they are a great product!!!
