My first 5x5- only one I've ever used so I don't know how it compares to other, but I really like it. Seems to be wellmmade. Turns well, and feels nice.I think by "sheerness" they mean the quality of the finish- the feel. Nice smooth plastic with just a bit of texture. It's just a bit larger than my 3x3s. Overall great cube. Great value, one of the cheapest ones I found. I really like this brand.
