Specs and Measurements
Square Steel Base Plate with Rounded Corners
- Steel plates measure 6 in x 6 in and have a thickness of 1/4 inches.
- Each plate weighs 2.25 lbs.
- Plate has four holes which measure 1/2 in each, one at each corner.
They are thick enough to hold up posts, and provide a large enough surface area to distribute weight evenly.
Shipped in Packs of Multiples
If you need to drill additional holes into the plates for the project you are working on, it's easy to do so. You will need a heavy-duty, hard drill bit to do the job.
Common Uses:
Road plates
Install posts over metal or concrete without having to dig a hole
Fire boxes in smokers
Facilitate install on a brick, concrete, or cinder block surface
Hang up signs or posts on metal or cement
- These steel plates are an ideal base for painting as they have a smooth, stained-grey finish. A good top coat will make the best finish and protection for your metal base plate.

The edges were sharp and clean so it’s quality cutting for price. The only issue are the holes are to far from the edge. Typically a 6†plate can mount a 4†post then bolt to the floor. These holes are so far from the edge a 4†post will touch every hole so you cannot put a nut or bolt in it. Would work fine for a 3†post.

I bought these with the assumption the holes on a 6" square plate were spaced 4-1/2" apart, center to center. That was my fault for assuming. Spacing was closer to 5", so it would not work for the adapter plate I planned to use it for. The only recommendation I would make to the seller is in the future include more detailed specs on the plates.
