Love this product, tried a cuttlebone but very hard to give since it floats, found this wonder shell, works great! My baby mystery snails are doing so well and it seems to be helping thier developing shells!

The water from my faucet is very soft. GH 20ppm, total alkalinity 20ppm, carbonate 30ppm. I use one large one in my 55g and the smallest ones in my 5-7g betta tanks. I noticed drastically fewer (none now) issues with fin rot on the bettas and as you can see in the pictures, my plants, fish, and snails are thriving. The mystery, nerite, (and Malaysian trumpet) snails are breeding regularly. Their shells are very healthy too.The packaging recommends more/larger shells per gallon than what I put in, but I researched also and you don't want to shock your aquatic life. Build up slowly. Each shell lasts between a week and a week and a half when put in a low flow area of the aquarium. I add a fresh shell after the last one is gone when I do weekly or bi-weekly water changes. 10/10!

I have been adding these "wonder shells" to my aquariums for many years and it does help keep my tank water clearer than without them in the tanks. Be sure to buy the right size for you tanks. They dissolve completely and when they are gone you just drop another one into your tank. As the instructions state, be sure to put the wonder shell in a place at the bottom of the tank where it gets good water flow!!

I really like these. Our tap water is 6.8 pH and very low GH/KH/TDS. My South American fish do just fine with that. However, my snails shells suffer over time without some supplementation and this is the easiest solution I’ve found. My fish and plants don’t seem to disagree with the wondershells either. I keep an eye on GH and KH and add them periodically, not with every water change. Honestly I also love the way they bubble a bit when you first toss them in. It’s the little things that amuse me sometimes.

Thought I ordered the super size since that’s what safari brought me to. This said it was a large size and I disagree.

First, one of these is good for only 5 gallons.Even when more were used to account for larger tanks, the water or mineral contents measured no different than they did before. I dont think they did a thing for the livability of my tanks water. Just cant see any difference with or without.My NeoC shrimp hate these. They wont even approach them till they've completely dissolved. My fish and snails in other tanks seem to be oblivious to them.So not seeing them doing any harm or good either way. So probably wont purchase again. Hence a neutral rating.
