I love designing on this graph paper. Great quality. Use it all the time for drawing garden layouts, furniture layouts, etc. Had to buy more b/c my son stole some of mine for his actual college engineering classes.

This paper is very similar to what was and maybe still is used in engineering schools. It was useful to be able to have a grid to sketch out design ideas both mechanical, electrical and mathematical. Very useful, even in this age of computers. Sometimes it is easier to draw out an idea with a pencil. The front side has defined margins and the back side has a grid. You can see that grid through the paper on the front side. This helps to keep the written descriptions and equations neat and easy to read.

The grid is not 1 inch x 1 inch, the page is 6 7/8 by 9 13/16 instead of 7x10. You can't use a ruler with this paper.
