You have to unscrew it pretty much all the way for it to work, and because of this it is extremely easy to have the cap fall off and lose the batteries. Also the ring that attaches to a keychain breaks and bends super easy.

Ordered 3 sets (18 ea.) of these. All worked except 1 of them. It had weak batteries in it. You do have to unscrew the end cap and remove the safety disc that prevents battery discharge. All of mine were a purple color. They work good for the cost.

When I got this item I took one out to play with my cat and it didn’t work. I took the batteries out and moved them around and then the pointer worked. But I have to say the batteries are a problem. They don’t stay bright very long

I purchased these as the battery in my other pointer went out and to replace it was more costly than a new laser! I came across this 6 pack and so far they have all worked without issue. The light is bright enough that my cat can see it during the day and I am impressed with the individual battery life so far.
