Beats sand paper hands down when sanding lacquer, as sandpaper it rolls up the dust and sticks to the paper. These pads capture the dust and keep it away from sticky build up allowing more sanding before cleaning. provides a smooth surface for a topcoat finish.

Great for cleaning rusted steel shafts, caked on dirt without removing metal. For tougher jobs you could spray a little WD40 on the metal while you’re using these Scotts bright pads , it will make it shine like new metal.

I have been using 3M Scotch Brite for about 25 years and it has always been very durable. works excellent on automotive paint prep. I used it for over 10 years cleaning milling machines before I rebuilt them. Different grades of pads for different tasks. Also, the Scotch Brite wheels for a bench grinder are great for finishing parts as well. Great product.

The title clearly said "3M Scotch-Brite General Purpose Hand Pad 7447 Pro..." but the 1st photo showed the non-Pro 7447 product while the 3rd photo showed the 7447-Pro product. What I received was the non-Pro 7447 product as shown in the 1st photo. The title should be corrected and the 3rd photo removed.I am only taking off one star, however, because the standard 7447 is still a good product and the price was good. The 7447-Pro is, however, a much better product.

I have been using these pads for many years for stripping the finish off of old clocks and they work great and do not leave any scratches

These pads work great for a variety of jobs, but I use mainly in-between coats of lacquer or to prep for paint
