I ordered this set of 60 craft foam trays to use with my gouache painting. I do not like to use jelly gouache. Rather, I use gouache from tubes. I also do not save my gouache paint, as I have gotten fairly good at taking the amount I need for each painting. I felt strongly that these smaller-sized trays would work well as a palette for me. I was right. The inch-high edge keeps water-based gouache contained. The tray is large enough to get several paint colors on the tray and to mix paints as well. While the trays are a one-time use for me, I believe they are not economical for the average painter. Their cost is fairly steep for this purpose. These trays are perfect for use with children or art therapy. Despite their cost, I still feel their positives outweigh the relatively high cost.

These foam plates are absolutely perfect for multiple uses! Work great for art projects (with the kiddos or even my own art project!) And even great for snack time! Heavy enough to hold a hotdog and fruit slices! Quite a few of my plates came with creases in them, but no big deal at all...... still functional, user friendly! They do NOT hold heat very well though, but that's normal for Styrofoam. Love that I have plenty here and that they're a great size and weight to backpack or take on a picnic! VERY nice!
