My heat unexpectedly went out at the beginning of our Texas winter. Ordered this item as a replacement Part. It was delivered timely and when I opened the package and handed the box to the service technician as soon as he took it out the box to examine it, it broke into 2 pieces. Fortunately l, I read the reviews before I bought this one and I ordered a 2nd one from a different company as a back up! SMH!

Replace a broken HSI for a Rheem/Rudd. Be careful installing as it is extremely fragile. I bought two at this price.

A decent quality ignitor as far as I can tell. It's been working a few days now, and glows fairly uniformly, which I think is a good sign. I ordered two to have a backup, but one arrived broken. They are rather fragile. Returned that one for a refund, which was easy, as it usually is. I did have to grind down a few mm of the raised ridge of the ceramic part (of the unbroken one) to make it fit in the slot of the metal mounting bracket. My furnace is a Goodman GMP075-3. Other than the slightly longer raised ridge, it's an exact match.

I understand that the element is brittle given its material, but accomidate that with your packaging so it doesnt arrive broken and useless.

The box doesn't come with the nuts or connector as shown in the product description. Have to cut the wires and connect to the original connector.
