I really like this stand for a couple reasons. First, it doesn't take up a lot of room. The base is large enough to hold it steady but it isn't unnecessarily large. It's going on my balcony and I don't want to have a large part taken up just by a base or worry about tripping on it constantly. The second reason is that most hooks curve outward, and for someone who's a bit clumsy like myself that means I'll inevitably end up catching on it often when I pass by. I ordered this one because it curves under and takes that risk away.It didn't come with any instructions but it's pretty self explanatory. It's relatively light compared to what I expected. Not so light that it's going to fall over with every wind but I can carry it easily. With all the bars attached it's the perfect height for my needs, but if you want it shorter you just leave out a pole section. The plastic piece that I assume was supposed to go on the end of the curved pole didn't fit. I tried several times to get it on there and to stretch it, but it's very clearly much smaller than the pole. It would have been nice to have one that fit because it looks a little unfinished without it, but it's not a huge deal.

I like to put my chimes and other decorative hanging items out, and I have a spot where I can’t drive a stake into the ground. Mine happens to be on a deck surface, but there are other places in my yard where it would work better to have a hook with a nice heavy base that doesn’t require staking. This fits the bill and does it with style. The hook comes in sections that simply screw together. The top is a bent section. The one weird thing is that a plastic plug that looks like it should go over the end of the hollow tube to keep water out doesn’t fit over the tube…but it does go into it and should work just as well that way.The base of this hook is an attractive “heart†design and the metal is solid and heavy. This hook should hold most any normal wind chime or other decorative spinner. I am not sure it would be strong enough for a very heavy plant, but it could hold a lighter one for sure.I’m super happy with this item and hope to get a couple more of this type stand in the future. It’s going to look great on my deck this summer.
