we live in a forest and I have a golden doodle that loves the forest. Unfortunately, the text love the forest as well. There’s actually substantially more text than there usually is for this time of year. So I’m constantly pulling them off him. Even though they are dead because of his medication, these tweezers work really well with accessing the tick and pulling out everything including head. Regular tweezers that my wife keeps in the cabinet don’t do nearly as well as a job. Those little plastic shaped removers. They’re not great, but none of them are. So you’re not really purchasing these for those. It’s for the tweezer sets. For the money, it’s a good value. So go forward and good luck.

This set is very affordable & incredibly convenient to have on hand, should a tick emergency manage to happen. It includes a very nice, quality set of steel tools, plus a smaller set of three plastic removers. I already managed to lose one of those, but only to my sweet grandparents next door who happened to actually run into their own tick emergency before we did, couldn't find their tick removal tool and I happened to have these...and an extra to let them keep. Thinking the others would be great to leave in the camper or shed. Maybe I'm just extra thankful I had these handy so recently when needed, but it probably only helped more that they were quality & easy to use. Definitely a great buy!

The tick removal tools and tweezers are great quality. Unfortunately, the comb is really only effective at finding larger ticks (engorged ones). Hoping to find a metal comb with less tooth spacing elsewhere.

We run a dog rescue so it's not uncommon for many of the dogs to be COVERED in ticks when we pick them up from animal control. We can spend hours picking them off and seed ticks are almost impossible to remove. These things were FANTASTIC. Quick flick of your wrist and they are off. Even the smallest of ticks!!

The L shaped removers are 3 different sizes. The small one works great even on pets with long hair and small ticks that are not engorged. It takes a little effort to be sure you get down to the skin and latch onto the head. From there you just apply pressure until it pops out. The bigger sizes may be needed to grab larger ticks. The metal remover did not really work on the small black legged ticks, but I am sure it would be fine for larger ones. The tweezers are nice quality, and really help if you do break one and need to grab small bits that are still under the skin. The comb, not really sure what that is good for. We did not find it useful in finding ticks on a dog.

Unfortunately we found two fully engorged ticks on my dog. And with the plastic tool it took less then 30 seconds to remove the tick. This is great especially since it is hard to keep a dog completely still for long periods of time. It also comes in many sizes which is CRITICAL. We found a nymph that was super small and this made it easy to remove. Unfortunately earlier this year we found a few super small ticks that had latched on. With tweezers they were impossible to remove and took hours to get them out. These tools are a life saver.

The ticks are terrible right now and this kit has everything you need to keep your dog clean and tick free. The tools are well made and dont have that cheap feel that you normally get when ordering from online sites.

The kit includes stainless steel an plastic tick remover tools that complement each other, i use a combination of stainless steel tools to clean the larger tick on the surface, and an extra stainless steel comb that allows me to comb their hair after removing tick.
