  • Check before adding a device,

    1)Take the probe out of the booster.

    2)Make sure turn on Bluetooth of mobile phone, and turn on GPS of Android mobile phone.

  • The smoker is an all-metal enclosed stove, which can affect signal transmission, so is recommended to keep the booster as close to the probe as possible during use. Fully enclosed large ovens and air fryers will also affect the maximum distance.

  • The part under the probe groove is not completely inserted into the meat, so that the probe is exposed to the outside. At this time, the temperature of the probe is consistent with the ambient temperature.

  • Yes, it’s safe. The app does not collect customers' personal information and complies with Android and IOS system security requirements.

  • Location access permission for finding nearby devices;

    Bluetooth access, to enable connectivity with Bluetooth Phone devices.

I like that the probe charges in the base and the base has a battery too so you’re not constantly charging. I’ve used it twice, once in the oven and once in my pellet smoker and worked great each time. More accurate than the probe built into my smoker. Have not tried the app yet.

I have another, more expensive, wireless, leave-in thermometer, which I like-the app and the probe, but I wanted another thermometer for the times I’m grilling more than one steak, or multiples of other foods. This thermometer is certainly more cost friendly.The nice thing about this meat thermometer is you don’t need the app to use it, since the display is on the booster (the charging case the thermometer is stored in). The backlit display shows the battery level of the thermometer and the battery level of the case. The case charges the probe, and the USB cord charges the case.Using the thermometer was easy, just make sure the probe is in all the way to the line. When the roast reached the temp I wanted, an alarm sounded from both the probe case and the app on my iPad. I did check the roast with an instant read thermometer and it showed the same temperature the probe was showing…I’d call that pretty accurate.My only small complaint is that I wish the case had a magnet on it, so I could keep it on the fridge. Other than that, this does a good job for a wireless, leave-in thermometer.

I just got a new smoker and didn't realize it didn't have a built-in thermometer probe. This seemed like it could be a great option, since it would allow me to monitor both the smoker temp and the meat temp remotely.I've only used it once since getting it a week ago, but I LOVE it! Mine arrived fully charged, so fair warning, when you remove the probe from the base, it automatically turns on and beeps at you! (I was startled). The base has just a few buttons, but the instruction manual included does a good job of communicating how to work them.Basically, the meat probe is charged when it's in the base. When you remove the probe and insert it into the meat, it has 2 different sensors - 1 gives the meat temp, the other the oven temp. Both of these are transmitted to the base, which shows both on a little screen, alternates back and forth between them. The screen also has icons for the battery life of both the probe and the base, and for when the temp is being transmitted. So, it is entirely possible to operate the thermometer with just the unit itself, not connecting to an app. There were instructions for setting up an alert on the base when it hits a certain temperature, but I wanted to use the app, so I skipped that part.The app is downloaded from your app store, there are QR codes to get you right to it. It paired right up with the base, no issues. Then, as long as you keep the base near the oven, it transmits the temp information to your phone from a distance (via Bluetooth, so that kind of range). The app won't register an oven temperature below 125°F, but it knew my roast was still mostly frozen in the middle at 35°.I put the probe into my roast and put the roast into my smoker out on my deck. I kept the base right on top of the smoker (smoker top is insulated, so stays cool). I was able to monitor the meat temp from inside my house! I did not end up letting it cook to the temp I had set, so I can't say how the alert system is. The probe readings jump around a LOT more than other probes I have used. I think this may mean it's reading temperature much faster, instead of taking 10 seconds or so to determine a reading. I noticed the oven temp was reading as lower than what the smoker said it was, but since I had it pointing towards the front and all of the heating happens towards the back, I just saw this as a sign of poor temperature circulation in my smoker.The probe requires that you stick about 3-inches of its length into the meat, so you can't use this on small pieces of meat. This is because the majority of the probe has a lower heat tolerance, and just the ceramic end is safe up to 500° temperatures.I was smoking the roast for about 6 hours (I think). When I was done, both the probe and the base battery read that they were at 80% (very handy to see this via the app, base unit doesn't give that kind of detail). You pull the probe out of the meat and let it cool on its own, then clean it up and put it back into the base to recharge. The base will turn itself off automatically once the probe is fully charged. Looking at it again, it now says the probe is 100%, and the base is still at 80%. I would think I could get at least 1 or 2 more sessions out of it on this first charge before having to plug in the base to recharge (very short USB cord included).Overall, I definitely recommend this unit! I also recommend getting the app if you can, the ability to look at the battery life is great, and it has some nice features for choosing what you're cooking, with safe internal temperatures for various meats built in.

The app runs constantly and eats your battery. I did contact the company. They said they are coming out with update in March. For now I load the app to use it then delete it

Wireless cooking thermometers are a thing. And this is a very good example of the genre.These all work similarly. A stainless probe is self powered (rechargeable) and is inserted into whatever you are cooking. The probe can send its signal back to the 'base' unit which can then allow access to the temp on an app on your phone. The base unit also acts as a signal amplifier--especially if you are using this inside of an enclosed grill or oven where the probe's relatively weak signal can be easily blocked. If you put the base near (less than 10 feet or so) to your cook, the signal is much more reliable.As with most, this unit works with a proprietary app. BUt the nice thing about this unit is that the base has a small display which can show you the temp without an app. If you are like me, your phone has more apps than you need and figuring out, remembering or updating the permissions on BBQ thermometer apps is not what you have in mind when you are ready for a steak, then having all the info without needing your phone is a great improvement.The lighted temp display is both easy to read and seems pretty accurate. The unit turns on and when you remove the probe from the charging holder and turns back off when it is returned--a nice touch.Another nice feature is that the probe will give you the temp in the oven as well as the internal temp simultaneously. So if you are intending to lower or raise the oven temp during the cook, you will have a really good idea of what the temp is. As with all of these devices, you need to make sure that you insert the probe fully (there is a mark on the probe body) to avoid frying the electronics.The app is equally straightforward if you intend to go that way and gives you a graphic (and pretty attractive) view of your cook on your phone. The app can connect to the probe through the base station and wifi so you can literally do a low temp cook of several hours and monitor the temps wherever you happen to be.My quibbles are that I wish there were TWO probes in order to monitor more than one location on the protein or to monitor a second protein altogether. Not sure whether this was designed to accomodate a second probe or how to get one.It's a very nicely designed product and comes giftably boxed.
