I chose this item because there were 60 pieces and I anticipated that they would break down quickly. They lasted in use far longer than previous similar grinding bits I've used (grinding down steel welds) and I have over 50 remaining for my next project.

These were a good price for the amount you get as I compared them to others in stores. Work well and bought some more.

1.) The stones may be useful for very light grinding on soft metals or very light pressure. Unfortunately, in my usage the stones failed. I was using the product in a standard "Brand Name" rotary tool, trying to smooth some metal surfaces in a tight spot. Unfortunately, the stones separated from the shaft. The first few 'flew off' at high revs. After altering position, I was able to stop while they were only slipping on the shaft, rather than flying across the work area. (Picture shows some that had separated and some that were still attached but were spinning on the shaft. I'm still finding the disconnected stones.....)This is nothing but a 'guess', but I'm assuming the friction of the stone is creating heat, which is softening the glue used. The glue isn't holding up to the operating temp. (NOTE: I have not had this issue with other stones purchased.)2.) While 1.) above was the larger problem, some of the stones were also 'crooked' on the shafts creating a higher level of vibration when the tool was spinning. The stones may be good for very soft metals or plastics (if you want to use a stone) or may not generate heat if you kept your grinding to very brief (few seconds) usages.I didn't request a return since I'd used so many of them, but probably should have.I don't usually leave less than positive reviews, but in this case thought it might help people use the stones on the appropriate applications and avoid the stones for certain metal grinding. Unfortunately, this was a bad purchase.

I would like them if they actually stayed together. I haven’t been able to use them to the fullest due to the fact that the stone comes flying off the shaft after they get hot.

I bought these for my wife who is a per groomer. She tells me that they work perfectly for dogs and cats nails. They last just about forever and are definitely better than sand paper disks.
