excellent value! real brass construction and knurled edges to ensure filters are easily installed and removed from the adapter. as you may know, brass has a far lower coefficient of friction than aluminum, preventing your filters from sticking when tightened. the extra weight of brass is far outweighed by the ability to unscrew your filters on location without the need for wrenches. brass is also more resistant to expansion and contraction due to ambient temperature.if you've ever dealt with a stuck filter in the cold, in a remote location and without your filter wrenches, because you bought aluminum step rings, these brass adapters will be a revelation. it's why high quality filters use brass rings; their resistance to expansion and contraction due to temperature ensures no light leaks and smoother installation and removal.at this price, they're less than 1/4 the price of the cheapest "professional" brass step adapters. they're more expensive than aluminum rings, but they're worth it, trust me. despite the low cost, these rings have excellent threads, knurling and coating. i'd put these up against any other brass step adapters out on the market today.

I was really happy to find a step up ring made of brass. Anyone who has had to get an aluminum ring off of a lens will understand why brass is so appealing. This one threads on smoothly, unscrews easily, and feels very sturdy. There's no sensation of it distorting when I grip it to unscrew it as with soft aluminum rings. I also like that it came packaged in a plastic filter box to protect it in my bag. Definitely worth the money.

If you get one of these - viz., mine is a 72mm male to accommodate a 77 mm filter - you'll need to find a new hood, because your 72mm hood won't fit anymore. If anyone knows of one leave me a comment.

SOLID Brass! Really a quality piece. Screwed on my Nikon lens and my Hoya filters fit it perfectly. Saved me a bunch of money not having to buy a Circular Polarizing Filter for my new 24-85mm G VR Nikon lens which has 72mm threads. I can now use my 77mm filters on my 72mm lens. Great value for the money and less filters to buy or carry in my camera bag. Only thing that would make it better is if the outside of the ring was knurled/textured to easier to remove. Other than that, I'm extremely happy with my purchase.

Right now both the 77mm $150+ polarizer or the 72mm $80 UV filter that are attached to the step-down ring are stuck, as in won't come off no matter what I do - even with a filter wrench. Maybe it is brass, maybe not, but the one thing I can say for sure is that this is just junk - and expensive junk at that, as it looks like I'll lose two pro level filters because of it.

I like this ring. I wanted brass and not aluminum or other. Brass does not gall or bind as much and makes unscrewing easy. The top pro brands can be very pricey, possibly overpriced. This item met my needs for a fair price. I bought one which I needed immediately but have need for more which I will purchase same from this vendor. I am a part time pro for 45+ years and appreciate and need quality.

The quality of all Luzid products is top-notch. The threading is buttery smooth and being made of brass means they are extremely durable. I have no doubt that these things will last a lifetime or more. Being so well-machined, I did not experience any binding as you usually do on cheaper aluminum step-up rings. I picked up all the common sizes to fit all my lenses and I plan on using these with all my 77mm Luzid filters.
