I feel that these tools are well made. The plastic is weighty and solid. It doesn't flex in your hand under pressure. They hold their shape and they are sized perfectly for 1/4" foil tape for stained glass. The two little slots where the tape and backing pass through the orange tool is sized PERFECTLY! If it were a smidge too big or too small it would cause wrinkles or damage the edge of your foil.It would be nice if there were an image of the orange tool with the tape passing through it on the package because I spent some time fiddling with it guessing before I looked at the images here and corrected myself. You should at a minimum read a book or watch a video before doing any stained glass anyway, so it's not really necessary.Any tool takes practice to perfect. I can only score the tool itself and the size, strength, and fit in my small-size grown-up hands is great.

I have used a straight hand foiler for over 20 years (last photo - Green one). This is similar to that but has a deeper notch for the glass to mate with the foil. I think I like that but the foil did get stuck to the tool quite often in my trying. I definitely think there is a learning curve here even though it is very similar to the foiler I have been using for years. The burnisher is ok. I like the different size notches for the different thickness of glass but to be honest anyone that does a lot of stained glass, probably won't use the notches much as it is just a quick to use the flat sections of the burnisher once you are proficient at it. Overall it is an ok tool set but in my opinion you can get this about 25% cheaper elsewhere and it isn't anything all that special.

once the backing is removed from the copper foil, it tends to stick to the plastic device. It became so tedious to thread that it was just as fast to not use it. I was was pretty cool when it worked, which wasnʻt most of the time.

Really hard to use. Wasted lots of foil. Really don't like this tool.

After watching the video on this listing on how to load the copper foil, and practicing awhile, I think I'm going to like using these tools versus putting foil on by hand. The tools are solid and durable and they center the foil on the glass edge consistently. Although there is a learning curve to the process, I think I'll have less finger cuts using these tools. I recommend them.

The tools themselves seem well made and have a nice weight/feel to them, but I am working on the learning curve to actually get the foil applicator to work right for me. I think it will just take a little practice, and followup with the visual from the listing to make sure the foil ia passed through correctly, since there are no instructions with the tools in the packaging. The burnisher itself is a great addition to the regular old straight burnisher.

I find this foiling tool works ok but for me it seems to have quite a learning curve....I do better by hand myself. My work just looks neater by hand. Now the burnisher, I will get tons of use out of that, lol. Both tools feel well made and strong so I'll go 3 stars.
