This is a replacement canister that is made after the OEM version. Upon physical inspection there's hardly any perceivable quality difference. It fits exactly to the machine and works as expected. A perfect solution to lower cost to switch out the canisters from time to time. The OEM ones are very expensive. This offers a lot of value to customers.

For this product, I look at the construction quality - plastic material, mold quality, connectors, and the electrodes. No issues with any of those, so this looks like a great and less-expensive replacement for the OEM part.Credit to the manufacturer for the caution "Inspect the electrode wires". AprilAire and Carrier now recommend replacing those wires every 3 years to avoid a potential hazard.

Given that you have to replace these canisters every months, wouldn't it make sense to have one that is just as good as the OEM model at a fraction of the price?! I certainly think so, and this steam canister definitely fits the bill. Works great. Zero difference that I can tell from the ones you get from the original manufacturer, and, you're going to replace it in a few months time anyhow, so why not save a few bucks?! Zero complaints and will be buying these moving forward.
