this was my first time using one of these and i found it helpful for my painting prep work.Setting it up was simple. the included metal pole comes in several sections and you screw them together. it doesn't feel strong so if you intend to put any pressure on the eall you may use your own threaded pole (like a broomstick.) that said i don't think you really need to put much pressure on your wall as your really just using this to lightly scuff the surface.the included 180 grit paper easily sticks on.I'm happy with it but will likely switch out the pole.

The pivoting head is sturdier than some other products I've ordered, so that's a plus.Attachment is via something similar to velcro. Haven't had a chance to use this since my subs are at least a month out from drywall installation. But I tried swinging it around and sandpaper holds on tightly enough.Build quality is ok. I'm never a fan of excessive number of segments on poles, feels like they did this for more compact shipping rather than build quality. The more segments, the more wear-and-tear and failure points, especially when you're constantly pressing hard on the pole for sanding. Extension tubes appear sturdy, threads don't seem to have any issues, but I'm concerned if this can last for multiple jobsites, or if it's just a one-time use product (which makes the compact segmentation pointless for me).

I have mixed feelings about this pole disc sander. I like that the sanding pads attach with a hook-and-loop backing and that the kit includes five discs of 180 grit with which to start. Assembly was simple—the handle attaches to the lower section, and the top section threads into the sanding pad attachment. The pole is lightweight, which makes it easier to hold while sanding, but it also feels like it could bend or snap under too much pressure. That said, it didn’t break when I used it. The previous homeowners had removed most of the popcorn ceiling, but after taking down a smoke detector, some popcorn texture remained. I thought this sander would make quick work of removing that small patch. However, the handle spins independently of the sanding pad, with no way to lock it in place for targeted sanding. When I tried a push-pull motion, the sander easily went off-kilter and skittered across the ceiling, damaging the surrounding paint. There were no instructions or how-to videos, but I assumed that if it could sand drywall mud, it could also remove popcorn texture. Unfortunately, I didn’t have much success. I’ll likely have to spray and scrape the area instead, as this tool didn’t do the job I needed it to do.

I had a more expensive pole sander a couple years ago and it was stolen off a job site. This pole sander does the job just as well, uses the same 9" sanding discs, and is just as effective, ant 1/5th of the price. The included pole is okay, but I honestly preferred to use my existing extending poles for more comfort and quicker adjustments, and they worked marvelously.

The 9 Inch Drywall Pole Sander is a great tool for smoothing out walls with minimal effort. The 53-inch adjustable extension pole makes it easy to reach high or hard-to-reach areas, allowing for greater control and comfort during use. The circular sanding head covers a larger area, speeding up the job and providing an even finish. It comes with 5 sanding sheets (180 grit) that are durable and effective, helping to achieve a smooth surface. The only downside is that the extendable pole is a little weak and feels like it could bend easily if not careful.

Compared to a rectangle sander, there really is no comparison. Sooo much easier to use. The others constantly bind up and are super annoying to work with. This makes the job easier and faster. I’d taken only a half star off for the included pole. It feels a little flimsy. Not sure it’ll hold up long term but realistically, I’m not going to be using it anyway. I’ll use my better poles that I already have

Great at sanding walls. Easy to change sandpaper and I like the long handle. I like that the handle is adjustable. Sturdy and easy to use. Great quality set.
