Holds paper. It doesn't matter what paper or paint, or how thick or thin it is spread, it will not pull a print. I have everything i know to make it work. It is only useful to put paint on a brayer. Do NOT buy it. Even dry paint is almost impossible to wash off.

I have been using geli plates for a few years. I bought this one because it will fit a full US letter sized sheet as well as Euro A4. The scrapers it came with are a bad idea because they are hard and could damage the plate. I like the little stencil it came with. It should have a clam shell package but doesn’t. I fortunately had a large plastic envelope that it fit in. I removed the acetate sheets right away. I could see there were bubbles formed below the acetate that could eventually leave permanent indentations. I “seasoned†the plate by massaging both sides with mineral oil, wiped off the excess oil, and attached large sheets of copy paper to each side. Then placed it into the plastic envelope with paper on where it will sit at least a day until I’m ready to use it. Conditioning this way also works to get bubble dents out of existing plates that have been stored too long with acetate sheets on them. You need to run a couple of prints to get the excess oil off so the paint will not bead up.

I have used other gel plates with same paint with no issue. Wanted a bigger size, bought this. Brayered a thin paint layer, put rice paper down, went to pull up, paper stuck. Soaked in soapy water to remove paper then used a soft toothbrush. Dried, used packing tape, that took up more paint/paper. Soaked more, dabbed dry, baby oiled lifted that with paper. Repeat, repeat. This is what remains. Have not attempted another pull, yet. At this time I do not recommend this product.

This is a size larger than the 8x10. It takes 9x12 so the final work is larger. That saves time.

The plastic covers of the gel plates were full of bubbles which affects printing. It was clearly used, with patterns already on the plate. The plate itself was not even flat. It was shipped in a bubble envelope with nothing hard to keep the shape an the hard stencils against the plate to misshape it.I returned it.

This gel plate did not work! The paper stuck horribly and I was unable to get it to work. Additionally it didn’t have a clam shell and was only wrapped in plastic. The teacher of the workshop I attended indicated that students that have purchased this particular gel plate all had to replace them with another brand.

I should have returned it but I kept trying. The paint builds up until it is a serious issue. Once I scrubbed it for hours several- days. It happened Again😳twice
