Why choose 940nm Infrared LED Illuminators?

940nm infrared LEDs are virtually invisible to the naked eye. These LEDs produce no light that the naked human eye can see. however, The light from these LEDs can be picked up by most infrared night vision cameras. if there is a need to be discreet, 940nm is a good choice due to its invisibility. This bulb is also suitable where there is a need to illuminate a specific area, since it will work in E26 / E27 light fixtures disguising and aiming it is easy.

This really helps the cameras see more at night, this way I wont have to leave any bright lights on, I can just use this and I wont miss anything that is going on in the darkness. Its great for my needs and I'm pleased with how bright and well it works.

This is completely useless for use with an IR camera. Not sure what it’s was designed to do But as an IR light it is completely worthless.

Was hoping the bulb would extend IR further than it did.

I was surprised how small this was at around half the size of a normal bulb. I put it in a hallway with an amcrest IP camera pointed at it with no others lights on and as you can see in my included image it illuminates somewhat near what a regular bulb would look like. Looking up close at the bulb with my eyes I can only see the faintest glow with the bulb cover unscrewed and nothing at all with it on. half the body is an aluminum heatsink that isn't exactly machined with care however that it looks or feels like doesn't really matter when it's installed. Just be careful of the sharpish edges. I wouldn't say it is super powerful but the fact that you don't get a red glow that everyone can see is a plus so it offsets the power I think.
