Since I had never used a drill sharpener like this before I made sure to read through the included instruction booklet before using it. The booklet had several pages of warnings and safety instructions and only a small section on how to use the drill sharpener. Fortunately, a previous purchaser posted a video which helped me to figure it out.After just a few minutes I was able to sharpen a completely dulled drill bit making it useable once again. The main thing to remember is the the rotating stone sharpens the outside edge of the drill so you have to rotate it 180 degrees to sharpen the other side. Once I figured that out I was able to sharpen the drill equally on both sides and I was happy with the results. I sharpened 3 more dulled drills (two of which had actually been broken but were long enough to still be useful once sharpened) and I'm happy with the results on all of them.I'm really happy to have this useful tool in my shop. I have plenty of old dulled drill bits which will now be useful once again after I take a little time to sharpen them. This should save me a lot of money since I tend to dull a lot of drills on numerous metal projects of one type or another. Now I won't have to buy replacement drills all the time. Yay!I compared the price of this sharpener to others listed on Amazon and this one is very reasonably priced. It would be nice to have a better set of instructions with pictures. Fortunately there are always helpful Amazon patrons who are willing to post their own "How To" videos!

The directions are awful on this. They're mostly safety warnings with little on actual operation. My husband did a 13/64 bit and he was able to fumble his way through sharpening that and it did pretty good. Then he tried doing several larger sizes and he couldn't make it work at all. It destroyed several tips.

I just received this product September 27th 2024 and I was so happy that I can save money on sharpening my drill bits . But I was so disappointed that this product does not work at all . I guess it's the way the stone is set up inside the unit like you see it on the picture I even tried to sharpen my brand new drill bit and it ruined it .And the degree of the sharpening stone is way off as you can see it on the picture .Or maybe I'm not just the lucky one and I got defective product .
