This reel seems to be built with very good materials. Great visibility and extremely tough. It has preformed well for us. Super easy to use. Lightweight. And the size is great as it doesn’t take up much room. We appreciate the simplicity of it but it’s great value.

A spool is a simple item but the details make the difference. My daughter's kit is mostly purple, so I go this for her. It's nicely anodized and there are no burrs on the bore. The knurled ridges around the edge assist with controlling the line speed when deploying the SMB.For use without gloves, the swivel is a nice touch. I found it a bit small and fussy to deal with when wearing 5mm gloves, so I would have to clip it off and use a big loop.The spool comes with a lot of line. Do yourself a favor and remove about 25 percent of it to have easier access to the holes for the bolt snap.The double ender bolt snap is unremarkable; it will do the trick and can be repurposed for other dive use. I eventually replaced the double ender with Xdeep's magnificent but pricey bolt snap that is easy to use with gloves.So far, it's been on 10 dives in bolt salt and fresh water and has held up fine with a fresh water rinse.
