I used it for a Sony A7ii and it doesnt go in all the way, but a tiny bit sticks out- it locks and secures well, and you can even add devices on the cage. Works well for the Sony A7ii, because it is impossible to find an A7ii cage anymore.

So I took a chance on this Cage, because it didn't list Sony A7II, as one of the models, But it was an average of $10-15 cheaper than other Cages that said they fit. But this fits perfectly! All the doors, buttons and compartments are accessible. I'm used to larger Video cameras that have the flash/cold shoes, for monitors, mics, and handle/grip.... So the cold shoe, and the Cheese plate design really helps to attach other accessories.Well made!! Good finish!! Great price!! And Great cage to simply protect your Sony A7II camera as well!Highly recommend!!

I bought this for a recent photography trip to Ireland and let me tell you - it's 110% worth it. For once I felt like my rig was secure in my bag and hands. Mirrorless cameras are quite small and having this cage gives my X-T3 a full feel, extra grip and protection. It was so handy when pulling my camera out of the side door of my camera bag; having the cage to grab on to vs. just the camera. And then while shooting, I found the bulk to be advantageous vs. a hinderance.I can't think of any cons. I can say that at first I didn't think it fit properly as my battery door was blocked. But I took it off and readjusted it and it was fine after that. I also mounted it to a tripod using had no issues. Next I plan to add an external monitor and will mount it on the cage.Finally, it looks super cool! Definitely buy it if you're on the fence. The price is more than reasonable.

For the price this is impossible to beat. Super easy to install and the quality is solid! Super versatile too! Excited to build out the rig!

The cage itself is not too bad however I don't know how much I would trust it for a full camera rig. I thought it was mostly fine and it was really the only option available. My biggest issue is that the cage does not seem completely reliable for professional-grade rigs.I was trying to connect the cage to a base plate but the screw mounts on the bottom are weirdly spaced and don't allow you to use more than one screw.The cold shoe mount built into the cage has no stopper which means you can slide things in from either direction. This doesn't give the most confidence for when you need to mount something like a monitor which could easily slide out when taking on or off.At the end of the day this rig is fine but could be so much better. It is too bad the market for the Eos R isn't too stong anymore
