About this item

  • Reliable Monitoring:The SS1 overflow switch utilizes a water-sealed reed switch, efficiently detecting blockages in various pipes such as drainage pipes and dishwasher drainage pipes, reliably preventing water damage to floors, walls, and ceilings. When a pipe is blocked, the float inside the switch rises with the liquid level. The magnetic component inside the float triggers the reed switch, immediately shutting down the system and stopping operation, protecting the surrounding environment from damage.
  • Quick Assembly:Installing the SS1 float switch is straightforward, requiring no cumbersome steps or specialized tools. With the included 3/4 inch adapter, sleeve, and cover, you can install the low-pressure condensate overflow shutdown switch horizontally or vertically, or inline with the main boiler's auxiliary drainage port. Its design considers various installation scenarios, ensuring great installation flexibility, even on sloping pipelines, without strict horizontal or vertical positioning. Finally, simply connect the 6-foot wire to the red or yellow thermostat wire to complete the entire installation process.
  • Premium Materials:This float switch is crafted with high-quality Schedule 40 PVC plastic components, ensuring long-term reliability. Renowned for its exceptional durability and stability, PVC can withstand challenges from various environmental conditions, including corrosion and extreme temperatures. Its use guarantees the switch's performance and appearance stability over time, without concerns about material-related issues affecting its function. Additionally, the carefully designed reed switch can sensitively detect changes in water level and respond promptly, avoiding common issues like sticking or rusting, further enhancing the switch's reliability and durability.
  • Convenient Cleaning Method:To meet users' cleaning needs, this float switch features a detachable cover design, facilitating a straightforward cleaning process. After prolonged use, simply use the specially designed taper cam to easily remove the cover and thoroughly clean it. This design ensures the cleanliness and optimal performance of the switch while providing users with a more convenient maintenance method. Furthermore, to enhance waterproof performance, we recommend using PTFE tape for efficient sealing during reassembly, ensuring the switch's long-term stable performance.
  • Versatile Applications:The SS1 condensate water float switch has a wide range of applications and can be installed on main drainage pipes or auxiliary drainage ports. This design considers convenience for maintenance, making the switch easily accessible for system maintenance and upkeep. For every household equipped with an HVAC system, an HVAC float switch is indispensable. It not only ensures the normal operation of the system but also provides additional safety guarantees, ensuring timely and effective discharge of condensate water.

Features:
If you are concerned about the possibility of blockages in the drainage system of your HVAC system leading to water leaks, we strongly recommend considering the installation of the SS1 water float switch. This switch utilizes advanced water float technology and can be easily installed in the drainage pipes. In the event of a drainage pipe blockage, the float will rise with the liquid level, triggering the switch to immediately shut down the system, preventing further water damage.
This advanced design not only provides additional security for your home but also ensures that your floors, cabinets, and surrounding environment are protected from water damage. Furthermore, the reliability and durability of the SS1 water float switch mean that it can effectively safeguard your home environment for an extended period, allowing you to use your HVAC system with peace of mind without worrying about potential water hazards. Therefore, installing the SS1 water float switch is a reliable and wise choice, providing your home with a worry-free experience.

I'm using this in an air conditioner condensate drain line. Normally the float is down when the condensate is freely flowing down the drain, so the switch is closed and the air conditioner runs as normal. But if there is a blockage in the drain line, the float will rise, and the switch will open, shutting off the air conditioner.

I was looking for an overflow switch that would trip at a pretty low water level and it looks like this switch should work. I did a few tests and the float lifts once it is about 50% submerged. For me, this would have been a problem if the float weren't adjustable. In the floats default position, the switch opens once the pipe is about 80%-90% full. I was able to unscrew the float to get it to trip once the pipe is about 40%-50% full, which should work well for my purposes. One thing to note, be careful when unscrewing the float. During testing, I unscrewed the float to where the guide poll bottomed out, no damage was done but at that point the float diameter is larger than the curvature of the pipe, so the float got stuck and didn't trip even though the water level had risen to the top of the pipe. I'd recommend making sure the float sits just above touching the pipe when adjusting it for maximum sensitivity.Lastly, the switch is normally closed and will open between 40% and 90% of the pipe being full depending on your adjustment as described above. The float also doesn't seem to have any hysteresis so I wouldn't recommend using this to control a pump without some kind of time delay relay or a second float switch telling the pump to turn off. This should work well as an emergency high limit switch, which is how it's intended.

This can be pretty confusing when you open it. If you study the drawing you will notice that is doesn't represent the device. That's because you can use it in horizontal mode (how it comes configured( or vertical -- where you move the sensor to the vertical pipe outlet. But be sure and read the 'fine print'. This is ON when the float is down and OFF when the float is up or floating in water. The description says "The magnetic component inside the float triggers the reed switch, immediately shutting down the system and stopping operation, protecting the surrounding environment from damage." I frankly don't see how this ever works as intended without another relay in line. Don't you want the pump OFF when not floating (i.e., down) and ON when floating (i.e., up)?

I used this PVC mounted switch to disable a pump that can run dry or suck air on it's input line. When this occurs the output line drains and the float disables the control contactor for the pump motor as it is intended to do. Could also be used as a valve fill switch with relay to load a tank, etc...
