Well made hatch door, with a shiny powder coated finish. I used it to hide some water pipe valves in the ceiling in the laundry nook in my basement. I had a rough opening of 16 1/4 x 16 1/4. Most other hatch doors I looked needed a rough opening more than that. This hatch fit perfect. And the white powder coating looks nice as well. The product was also well packed.The only issue I have is the location of the horizontal mounting holes. I like to install screws horizontally (in shear) as opposed to vertical (in tension). The horizontal holes provided are too low and hits the sheetrock instead of the frame. Also, the ridge along the edge of the frame is close to the hole resulting in the screw head to stick out. Having said that, this is not a major issue. The vertical screws will have enough holding capacity as the hatch door is light. It is just the engineer in me.

Cleaned up a mess over my electrical panel were I was installing new wiring. I was going to cut a patch for the drywall, but this gives me a clean professional look as well as leaving a cess for the future.
