I'm a machinist and this tool works great. Been buying a bunch of Accusize tools to replace my worn tools and all have been excellent.

Great and accurate, but a black color on the aluminum ring would help contrast. Perfect tool for any machinist.

Being a home hobbyist self-taught machinist it seems accurate to the degree I can compare or test it so it will be good for my needs at this point, (still learning) It does seem pretty light-built compared to some older Federal and Starret DTIs I have used. It operates smoothly and everything fits/works as expected, Only time will tell the real story and if I have issues I will update this review. The box/case is very unimpressive tho but again it's OK. I didn't expect a lot at this price point considering a Mito or Starrett could be over 3 or 4 times the cost.

What should be the same reading (moving a kmd back and forth) gives random reading +/- .002"I would not trust this indicator if I need a thou precision. This is definitely no mitutoyo or starretti guess you get what you paid for...

The mechanism in this is HORRIBLY inaccurate and not repeatable. The first one I ordered had a mechanism that was "sticky" beyond words. If you ran a 1-degree angle block under it, it wouldn't even move. You needed to run the tip over some sort of step to get the needle to even move. I returned it figuring it was defective, and got an exchange. The second (exchange) item was slightly better, as the needle would at least move along the length of a 1-degree angle block on a surface plate. However, the measurements were inaccurate and not repeatable. I placed three gauge blocks (admittedly only grade B, but all within 15 microinches) of 0.119, 0.120, and 0.121 side by side on a surface plate and slid them back and forth under the indicator tip. All of these gauge blocks are within 15 microinches (0.000015 inches) of nominal, so a tenths indicator like this should show a difference of one thou between them. However, sliding them back and forth, this indicator registered the 0.001 step as anywhere from 0.0004 to 0.0008. Even worse, the mechanism seems to have a lot of friction, because the reading differed by almost 50% depending on how quickly I moved the blocks (i.e. shock force overcoming the friction of the mechanism).Useless. Save your money and either deal with Accusize's very nice thousandths dial indicator, or buy a used half-thou or tenths DTI made by a reputable company.

I'll start with this, I like Accusize and will continue to buy their products but... this .0001" I believe is punching above its weight. I was using it to indicate in a gang block on a Swiss lathe and instead of a smooth movement in the direction of error it was jumping as much as .0005".This is not a giant amount of error but on a Swiss lathe 5 tenths is alot.

This is a great little dial small enough to fit in tight spaces and accurate enough for toolmaking. Unfortunately as another reviewer posted the bezel to adjust the numbers is loose. On mine it’s not just lose but pops out when turning jamming the needle and adding more variables to the already difficult process of getting fine measurements

This arrived whole and ready to use, but it would not repeat. On my surface plate with a collection of gauges it would vary by up to 3 tenths, and it would return across a range of 4 tenths. My Mitutoyo 10ths DI was within a few 100ths and would return within the same, so I believe my setup.I returned this item.

Didn't work a lot with it, but the little I did, it worked flawlessly.

You get what you pay for. It is too cheap to expect much out of it. The needle tracking is all over the place. It’s a low range indicator so it should be a little sensitive but this goes beyond that jumping instantly from one end of its range to the other. Used a co workers indicator and found the problem was in my indicator and not the machine being serviced. Also, when calibrated with gauge blocks upon purchase (necessary because it does not come with any calibration reports) found it does not hold anything close to zero. It fluctuates about 25% of its total range on calibration.Save your money and buy something useful. The couple dollars you save buying this product is money out the window because it is not useable. I have an accusize with a 1” range that works fine but this one is trying to be too precise for what it is capable and therein lies the problem. For $140 you can get a Fowler which I would say is a substantially better affordable test indicator.
